Lineage
I
raised the Grandparents who are still doing well with their
families. All of the grandparents range from 12 to 17 pounds.
Although Braveheart and Winifred are still under 12 pounds, your kitten
may grow to be very large.
Genetics
It
took over 5 years to isolate the Red Gene because it is a rare color. The
Red Gene is sex linked to the X chromosone. Therefore, Braveheart,
as a male (XY) has one Red Gene whereas Winifred and BoPeep, as females (XX) must
have two Red Genes.
Clowns
Some say that the Red Gene
produces a silly clown-like kitty. Braveheart leaves this impression
on many, so I think it is true. Winifred is my 'big kitten' because
she is so playful. |
